Unique 1983 genuine Kashmiri charcoal burning winter warmer. originally owned and used by a Srinagar house boat caretaker.
Winter warmers are woven by hand using strong rush reads grown in the high lakes and forests of Kashmiri (Srinagar) these dried sticks are then lined with a baked terracotta bowl, which is then filled with wood charcoal. Having once set the charcoal alight this practical and attractive creation is held under a poncho during the winter - sort of mobil water bottle.
Kashmir's say there are only two important things you need during the long snow bound cold winters - A wife and a winter warmer, however, the winter warmer is the most important, because it's always with you.
