Violet Elizabeth colourfully stylish signature brand was created by Lucy Brickwood back in 2013.. Known for their exciting clothing brand all designed, cut and made in Kent, India and Africa are a small, independent and mighty company consisting of a 11 strong team.

“We are all fiercely committed to ethical trading. We source our materials from community projects, charities, Non Governmental Organisations and recycling centres from around the world. These fabrics include fair-trade hand printed organic cottons from 15 countries including India, Ghana and Nigeria, hand embroidered silks from a fantastic widows group in Bangladesh, vintage cotton quilts, recycled sari and kimono silks and traditional wool, tweeds, Denim and linen from across the UK, Ireland, Germany and the Netherlands. In addition the paper bags we use are made from recycled newspapers by a charity that supports housing and educating street children in India’s biggest cities”.
Since 2013 Violet Elizabeth has been creating unique mens, womens, childrens fashions and homewares. A passion for keeping everything as colourful as possible we have developed a signature style full of bold prints mixing textiles from around the world. Taking time to source all the materials we use in person from artisans and craftspeople, NGOs, Charities, fair-trade collectives and recycling centres from across 15 countries and growing. Many of our pieces are unique and the rest are in small runs of about 5 pieces insuring our wonderful customers stand out in the crowd. All items are cut in workshop on the first floor of our Canterbury shop and many are sent out to machinists in a 35 mile radius.
