Sainik Handloom

Traditionally handcrafted Kantha stitch garments, accessories, Silk scarves, throws and cushions

Umesh Sing, founder of Sainik Handloom, has since 2005 been supplying the USA, UK, Japan, Netherlands, France, Hungary, and China with quality products and reliable manufacturing of handcrafted products and services.

Kantha stitching was originally about upcycling old clothes and giving them a new life, but the craft also acted as a canvas for women to express their artistic talents and was typically practiced by every woman in the village for her household. Today this time-consuming craft has become the foundation of Sainik Handloom’s success and a valuable designer signature tool to add to their creative palette.

Today our kantha stitching is found on everything we create, from stoles and quilts, sarees to shawls, purses to linen throws, sandals to garments, or bedcovers and throws—“Everything we dispatch from our village coordination centre meets western quality demands, and our service has become recognised as something wholesale importers can depend upon.”

While shopping at Sainik, you will be personally supporting the actual Kantha artisan that made your unique product directly.

Here at Sanik Hanloom, we strive hard to achieve the confidence of customers with our fair trade business policies and client satisfaction by exporting our vintage as well as new cotton collections, created by our much-valued village artisans residing within West and East Bengal, Orissa, and Assam, helping these independent women take control of their lives every day.
