Each of these unique handwoven silk Wagara shawls is a layered textile artwork that seamlessly blends traditional handcraft techniques with contemporary design. Made from coloured tie-dyed silk strips, each strip is carefully woven in a criss-cross basket weave pattern to create a dynamic grid of colour and texture, sandwiched between layers of transparent silk. Every creation is further enhanced by the artisan’s meticulous Kantha stitching, incorporating strands of coordinating acrylic thread throughout, adding subtle dimension and movement to the surface.
